The Lord speaks to us in today’s world but many people do not believe that. Most people today do not know how to recognize God’s voice. There are even those who go to church and call themselves Christians who do not understand how God speaks to us today or how He conveys His will to us.

When we believe this with all our being we will have a desire to repent, that is, we will have a desire to turn from our sins and to live as Jesus lived.

It is also why so many new Christians backslide – because they think they can never live up to such high standards and their faith and belief are still too weak for them to understand the power and the authority God gives them for their walk.

This is very difficult for us in America because we have so much.
We have come to rely on our own self, or in other Americans, to meet our needs and wants.

We have lived out the great American dream of pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps and therefore we have no need to depend on God – we depend instead on man.
Way too many Americans, even those in the church, have never learned that the great American dream is a nightmare without God. As a result, many Americans really worship self and not God, because it is the self that we depend upon to set things in order.
If we could only realize how much even the most fiercely independent and self-sufficient person is shortchanging his or her own self, and how much more God wants to do for us, we would be so much better off.
God Speaks Through A Vision On His Will That None Should Perish
God has spoken to me a number of times through both visions and dreams. I would like to briefly express one of those visions, which was a very vivid, moving, panoramic picture and which very clearly presented God’s will for me.
I saw a very large wheat field that was ripe for harvest. It stretched to the horizon as far as I could see in all directions. I could see the wind gently blowing the wheat and the wheat moving in waves.
There was one single harvester there at the front edge of the field with a small hand sickle, cutting only a small amount for harvest at a time. He said to me there were not enough harvesters and that most of the crop would be lost.
Then, as I looked at this massive field that was ripe for harvesting, the wheat heads turned into human faces. I could see faces and eyes everywhere, many of them looking at me. As I watched them, the faces started to melt. As the melting took place, the faces began to lengthen and deform and run down, just melting away, dying and falling to the ground. There were terrible screams for help from some and others just didn’t seem to know what was happening.
The harvest was plentiful but there were too few workers and the souls were dying. What I believe God was speaking in this vision was that souls are dying without ever having had the opportunity to be fruitful for Him and also that workers are desperately needed. We have people today who are dying and they don’t even know it. We also have people today so misled by the American dream of self-sufficiency and independence that they are dying and they don’t know it either.
We desperately need workers who can hear God’s voice and know His will, and His will is that none should perish.
