1.  Two Kingdoms – God’s and Satan’s

There are two kingdoms.  Within the natural and spiritual realms there exist natural and spiritual kingdoms.  Kingdom refers to rulership.  Like the natural realm, the spiritual realm has very real leaders.

The Bible tells us that the evil part of the spiritual kingdom rules the natural kingdoms of this world. The leader is a persona sometimes called Lucifer – because that was his name before his fall from heaven – but he is most often referred to a Satan or as the devil.

Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.  And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give to You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. (Luke 4:5-6, bold added)

The kingdom of Satan consists of Satan, demons, and all people who live in sin and rebellion against God.  Satan’s control, however, is limited and will someday end.  God has a plan to change things and bring all kingdoms of the world under God’s authority.

“Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven saying.’ The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!’” (Rev. 11:15) This is “to bew put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment – to bring all things in heaven an on earth together under one head, even Christ”  (Eph. 1:10)

God’s kingdom consists of one God, who exists in three parts, (1) God the Father, (2) God the Son (Jesus) and (3) God the Holy Spirit, and of angles and other created creatures, as well as all people who live in submission to Him.

Every person lives in one of these two kingdoms.  We can enter the kingdom of God only through accepting Jesus as the Son of God and repenting and asking Jesus into our hearts, our inner being.  We must consciously and individually accept the work of Jesus Christ in dying for our sins.  God the Father has designated Jesus to handle all the details of our change from Satan’s kingdom to His.

Most people understand we live in a decadent world, but many, many do not understand that the “whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” (1 John 5:19).  These people don’t understand we are born into Satan’s kingdom and the only way out is to accept Jesus Christ unconditionally as their savior.

Following are several questions to help prepare you for your spiritual war:

(1)     Identify the inhabitants of God’s spiritual kingdom.

(2)     Identify the inhabitants of Satan’s kingdom

(3)     I identify the spiritual forces of evil.

(4)     How did we become part of the evil kingdom?

(5)     Who can help us change kingdoms?

2.       Tips for Kingdom Living – Strength

What is the evidence of God’s strength?

God’s mighty power is evident in His creation. Ps 65:5-13; Rom. 1:20

God’s people recognize His powerful works of deliverance and His strength is revealed in His sovereign providence over all things. A life transformed by the gospel of Christ is also evidence of God’s power. Ps 66:5-7; Job 40: 1-4; 2-3; Acts 9:1-22

How can I experience the strength of God in my life?

The power of the resurrection is experienced by all who trust Christ for salvation.  Eph 1:18-23.

God promises to renew our strength as we depend on him in trusting expectation. Isaiah 40:29-31.

How can I become stronger in faith?

We grow in faith when we obey God’s call.  Judges 6:7-25.

When we step out in faith we begin to experience God’s power.  Joshua 3:1-17

We grow stronger through the mutual encouragement and accountability of other believers. 1 Thess. 3:1-4; Rom. 1:9-11.

The Holy Spirit strengthens our faith through prayer. Jude 1:20

2.       Scripture Guidance & Inspiration

Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in thy commandments.

 Psalm 119:66

 The Revised Standard Version

___________________________________________

Just as the Holy Spirit came upon the womb of Mary, so He came upon the brain of a Moses, a David, an Isaiah, a Paul, a John and the rest of the writers of the divine library.  The power of the  Highest overshadowed them, therefore that holy thing which was born of their minds is called the Holy Bible, the word of God.  The writing of Luke will, of course, have the vocabulary of Luke and the work of Paul will bear the stamp of Paul's mind.  However, this is only in the same manner that the Lord Jesus might have had eyes like his mother's or hair that was the same color and texture as hers.  He did not inherit her sins because the Holy Spirit has come upon her.  If we ask, how could this be, the answer is God says so.  And the writings of men of the Book did not inherit the errors of their carnal minds because their writings were conceived by the Holy Spirit and born out of their personalities without partaking of their fallen nature.  If we ask, how could this be, again the answer is God says so.

2.       Thoughts for Meditation

THE VIRGIN BIRTH -- Luke 1:34 NIV

"How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"

Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived.  She remained a virgin until after He was born and then went on to bear sons and daughters to Joseph.  The fact of her virginity at the conception of Jesus and throughout her pregnancy is one of the cornerstones on which our faith is built, for without the virgin birth, Jesus is not who He claimed to be.  Without the virgin birth, Jesus Christ is not the Son of God.  Without the virgin birth, Jesus is not fully God and fully man.  Without the virgin birth, Jesus is not God with us.  And yet, today, many people deny the fact of the virgin birth.  Many churches are taking doctrinal stands denying the virgin birth of Jesus, and still insist on calling themselves Christian.

Are you among those who find this fact a little hard to believe?  Then take a look at Luke.  Luke was a physician, a medical doctor.  He was fully aware of where babies came from and how they were conceived.  His medical knowledge might not have been as complete as a medical doctor of today, but that does not negate the fact that he was aware of the biology involved in conception.

As such, it would have been just as hard for Luke to believe in a virgin birth as any person, and yet, Luke reports the circumstances of Jesus' birth to Mary as fact.  In addition, Luke was the consummate researcher, an incredible stickler for details.

It is believed that Luke spoke directly with Mary about the conception of Jesus, interviewing her with the same intensity as any investigative reporter of today.  So the story recounted here is not something Luke made up.  It is a story of fact, Mary's own story.

And last, if you are able to believe that God had the power to create the entire universe and everything in it, why should it be difficult to believe that He could conceive one child in the womb of a virgin?

As we said a few days ago, if you don’t believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, then everything else you believe about Him is a waste of time.

Think about it…

Israel wargame sees U.S. sidelining Netanyahu on Iran - By Dan Williams – www.reuters.com

TEL AVIV (Reuters) - Israel will find itself diplomatically sidelined and militarily muzzled as the United States pursues a nuclear deal with Iran next year, according to a closed-door wargame at Israel's top strategic think-tank.

Not even a warning shot by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -- the simulation featured an undeclared Israeli commando raid on Iran's Arak heavy water plant -- would shake U.S. President Barack Obama's insistence on dialogue.
