What Is The Work Of The Spirit In Relation To The Believer To Grow And Mature The Believer
The Spirit Brings about
unity and peace between believers.
endeavoring to keep the unity
of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephes.
4:3
The Spirit Comforts and
helps.
And I will pray the Father,
and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever--
John 14:16
The Spirit Enters,
matures, and enables the believer.
This only I want to learn
from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing
of faith? 3Are you so
foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the
flesh? Galatians 3:2-3
The Spirit Equips the
believer to understand the Word.
But God has revealed them
to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep
things of God. 11For what
man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even
so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
12Now we have received, not
the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the
things that have been freely given to us by God.
13These things we also
speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit
teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1 Cor. 2:10-13
The Spirit Give
abundant life.
He who believes in Me, as the
Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
39But this He spoke
concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy
Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:38-39
The Spirit Gives
rivers of living water.
He who believes in Me, as the
Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
39But this He spoke
concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy
Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:37-39
The Spirit Helps the
believer to struggle against the flesh.
I say then: Walk in the
Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17For the flesh lusts
against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to
one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
18But if you are led by the
Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians
5:16-18
The Holy Spirit Infills.
He who has My commandments
and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My
Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."
22Judas (not Iscariot) said
to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the
world?" John 14:21-22
The Spirit Intercedes
for the believer.
Who is he who
condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is
even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Romans 8:34
The Holy Spirit Leads
believers.
But if you are led by the
Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians
5:18
The Spirit Renews day
by day.
But we all, with unveiled
face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into
the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2
Cor. 3:18
not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing
of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
Titus 3:5
The Holy Spirit Reveals
God’s wisdom.
But God has revealed them
to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep
things of God. 11For what
man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even
so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
12Now we have received, not

13These things we also

1 Cor. 2:10-13
The Spirit Reveals new
truth.
Jesus answered, "Most
assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot
enter the kingdom of God. 6That
which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is
spirit. John 3:5-6
The Spirit Reveals the
things of God.
But God has revealed them
to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep
things of God. 11For what
man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even

1 Cor. 2:10-13
The Holy Spirit Sanctifies
believers.
elect according to the
foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience
and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be
multiplied. 1 Peter 1:2
The Spirit Sheds the
love of God abroad in the hearts of believers.
Now hope does not disappoint,
because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who
was given to us. Romans 5:5
The Spirit Strengthens
believers to wait for the hope of salvation.
For we through the Spirit
eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. Galatians 5:5
that He would grant you,
according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His
Spirit in the inner man, Ephes. 3:16
The Spirit Teaches and
helps the believer to remember.
But the Helper, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and
bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 14:26
The Spirit Teaches the
believer the things God has prepared for him.
But God has revealed them
to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep
things of God. 11For what
man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even
so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

13These things we also

1 Cor. 2:10-13
The Spirit Works in
the life of the believer.
But you shall receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts
1:8
There is
therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk
according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2For the law of the Spirit
of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
3For what the law could not
do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son
in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the
flesh, 4that the righteous
requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the
flesh but according to the Spirit.
5For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things
of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of
the Spirit. 6For to be
carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and
peace.
7Because the carnal
mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor
indeed can be. 8So then,
those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9But you are not in the
flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if
anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
10And if Christ is
in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life
because of righteousness. 11But
if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised
Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His
Spirit who dwells in you.
12Therefore, brethren,
we are debtors--not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
13For if you live according
to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of
the body, you will live. 14For
as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15For you did not receive
the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by
whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
16The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children
of God, 17and if children,
then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with
Him, that we may also be glorified together.
