Images Of Jesus

 

We all want to see Jesus.

However, there are just no true images of Jesus.

What we have to settle for is how other people have pictured Him, and what we get is many different versions of what He looks like to other different people. 

The blessing in this is that when we look at many different versions of how different people see Jesus it begins to give us an image of how He might look to us.

There are seven more pages of Jesus pictures on this web site. They have been collected from a variety of different sources. Some are contemporary renditions and some are a depiction of what some people thought Jesus looked like many years ago.

 

To view these images of Jesus in many different activities and situations begins to paint a picture of the life of Jesus. That life is viewed through the eyes of many different artists, for example, there are many different renditions from different artist of Jesus in ministry, of Him on the cross, of Him as a shepherd, of Him with a crown of thorns on His head, of Him ascending to heaven, and of Him praying.

 

All the different portrayals of Jesus by many different artist begin to give us a sense of who Jesus was and is, and it begins to give us a picture in our own minds of what Jesus looks like to us personally.

 

This is a beautiful way to begin to form our own concept of what Jesus looks like to us personally.

 

We have attempted to present pictures of Jesus representing different artist from different time periods as well as presenting Him in many different situations, such as ministry, as a shepherd, praying, healing people, on the cross, with thorns on His head with children, in baptism, ascending to heaven, at His tomb and with nails in His hands.
