Jesus Face Revealed?

Jesus' Face
What Jesus face looked like has been sought after for
centuries. Do we now really know?
The Faces of Jesus: A Life Story
Controversy
This question is very controversial and generates great
emotion among people. There seems to be an inner desire in many people to be
able to see and actual picture of Jesus. It is as if the reality of a picture
could increase their faith.
Doubting Thomas
When Jesus appeared to the disciples the first time after
His resurrection, Thomas was not among them. When Thomas was told by the other
disciples that they had seen Jesus alive, Thomas said that unless he saw the
nail marks in His hands and put his finger where the nails were and put his hand
in His side he would not believe that Jesus was alive. (John 20:24-25)
Is this perpetual search for Jesus' face fulfilling the same
need that doubting Thomas had? Do so many people still need some physical
evidence of the existence of Jesus?
Picturing the Face of Jesus: Encountering Christ Through Art
When Jesus appeared to Thomas and the other disciples a
week later Jesus said to Thomas “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out
your hand and put it in my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to Him,
“My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have
believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John
20:26-29)
Faith
We are called to accept who Jesus is and that He was
resurrected from the dead by faith.
Maybe all the fuss about Jesus' face is just curiosity by
many to know what Jesus looked like. I have to confess, I was curious enough to
look for Jesus face on the History channel program that showed the computer
generated pictures of Jesus face. I also looked at the computer generated
picture on the Shroud of Turin and at the artistic clay bust that has been
produced.
Guess what, none of them look alike.
Encounter: Face to Face with Jesus
I do not know if the new technology in computer graphics
have been able to produce Jesus face or not, but I do know that the controversy
still rages and is not likely to be settled for a long, long time.
Jesus is not the creator of conflict
I also know that Jesus is not the creator of conflict; the
enemy is behind conflict.
When I read the reviews of the History Channel’s program
revealing what the computer artists said was a re-creation of Jesus face using
the Shroud of Turin the intensity of the conflict of different opinions was
fierce. God is not the author of that.
Our Position at www.PracticalSpiritualWarfare.com
For those of you who read the material here on
www.PracticalSpiritualWarfare.com you know we have our feet planted firmly
in Jesus Christ and we do not deal in speculation.
On this whole issue of Jesus face, which we have looked
into, we believe we are being called to stand on faith in our belief of who
Jesus is, what He did for us at the cross, His resurrection from the dead, His
ascension into heaven and His promise of return for His bride.
Fifteen Faces of God: A Quest to Know God Through the Parables of Jesus
We are not doubting Thomas
Like doubting Thomas, we do not need to see for ourselves,
but rather we accept by faith and one day we will know without doubt what Jesus
looks like. We will see Jesus face for ourselves and spend eternity with Him.
