Sample:

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our service men and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and presence as they stand in the gap for our protection.

We also remember the families of our troops, and ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes and your peace, provision and strength to fill their lives.

May the members of our armed forces be filled with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord's mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support.

In the name of Jesus. Amen

Almighty God, kindle, we pray, in every heart the true love of peace, and guide with Your wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth, that in tranquility Your dominion may increase until the earth is filled with the knowledge of Your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Sample:

Lord God Almighty, You have made all the peoples of the earth for Your glory, to serve You in freedom and in peace. Give to the people of our country a zeal for justice and the strength of forbearance, that we may use our liberty in accordance Your gracious will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Father God,

In the stillness of our hearts we call on you who created us and who sustains us. You call us to live in peace and we ask that you will hear our prayers.

Hear our prayer for all who have died, whose hearts and hopes are known to you alone.

Hear our prayer for those who put the welfare of others ahead of their own and give us hearts as generous as theirs.

Hear our prayer for those who gave their lives in the service of others, and accept the gift of their sacrifice.

Help us to shape and make a world where we will lay down the arms of war and turn our swords into ploughshares for a harvest of justice and peace.

Comfort those who grieve the loss of their loved ones and let your healing be the hope in our hearts.

We ask that you hear our prayers this day Lord and we look for your answer. In the Holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
