God’s Spiritual Warfare Kingdom Law of Forgiveness
Following the law of forgiveness, gives access to the
kingdom and its marvelous power. When we violate the law of forgiveness access
to the kingdom and its power is blocked for us and we are confronted with the
need for spiritual warfare to overcome the resistance to forgive.
We see the law of forgiveness demonstrated in Matthew
6:5-15 and Mark 11:22-26. Matthew 6:14-15 says. "For if you forgive men their
trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not
forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses".
Mark 11:22-26 says,
22 "Have faith in God,"
Jesus answered.
23 "I tell you the truth, if anyone
says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in
his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever
you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
25 And when you stand praying, if
you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may
forgive you your sins. 26 but if you do not forgive, neither will
your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."
Here in Mark, we tend to focus on verses 23 through 24 and
we miss the fact that verses 25 and 26 are conditions that must be met if we are
to speak to our mountain and have it removed. That condition is the law of
forgiveness. We must forgive or our Father will not forgive us if we are not
forgiven our prayers are not answered and our mountains are not removed.
Forgive Yourself to prepare for spiritual warfare in the
end times
The first person we most likely have to forgive is
ourselves as we prepare for the end times and we must expect spiritual warfare.
More people lack forgiveness toward themselves them toward anybody else. They
are unwilling to forgive themselves and to recognize that God says, "as far as
the East is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
(Psalms 103:12)
If you are a true believer, he has already cleansed your
conscience from dead works so that you might serve the living God. (Hebrew
9:14). God cleanses us for service in order not to leave us with the guilt of
past sins. Those past sins should be dead, buried, and forgotten.
"If our heart does not condemn us," the Bible says, "we
have confidence towards God." (1 John 3:21).
Obviously, we cannot have continuing sin in our lives and
expect forgiveness.
We have to be free from ongoing conscience sin and
rebellion against God. But if we are walking in the light, and walking in
forgiveness, then the blood of Jesus is continuously cleansing us from all sin
(1 John 1:7).
Forgive God to prepare for spiritual warfare in the end
times
The second person we have to forgive, especially if we have
bitterness, is God Himself as we prepare for the end times. There are people who
blamed God because a child died, because a husband ran away, because they have
been sick, because they have not had enough money.
Consciously or unconsciously, some people think all of
these things are God's fault. There is a deep-seated resentment; yet we cannot
be resentful toward God and experienced Kingdom power flowing in your life: we
have to rid yourself of any bitterness towards God. That may take some
soul-searching and spiritual warfare. You must ask yourself, "Am I blaming God
for my situation?”
Forgive Family Members to prepare for spiritual warfare
in the end times
The third person, we may have to forgive is a member of our
own family as we prepare for the end times. We have to get rid of resentment,
especially towards those closest to us. The husbands, wives, children, and the
parents - all must be forgiven when slights and resentments have built up in
family situations.
Many people say, well, I didn't think that counted. I
thought that was just a family matter. All lack of forgiveness has to be
eliminated, especially toward every family member.
Forgive Any Others to prepare for spiritual warfare in
the end times
Finally, in spiritual warfare for our end times
preparation, there has to be forgiveness for anybody else who has ever done
anything against us as we prepare for the end times. It may be that our
resentment is justified. The person may have done a very evil, terrible thing to
us. We may have every legal and intellectual right to hold a grudge and to hate
that person. But if we want to see Kingdom life and power flow in our life, it
is absolutely imperative to engage in spiritual warfare to forgive if we are
having a problem letting go of unforgiveness.
Forgive them to the point where we actually feel ourselves
cleansed of resentment and bitterness and are actually praying for them. If we
do not, the lack of forgiveness will make it impossible for God's power to be
released to us and in us. The miracle life depends 100% on our relationship to
God the Father. That relationship is built strictly on the strength of His
forgiveness of our sin.
Forgiveness is the Key
Forgiveness is the key. However, other sins can be present,
and if our heart condemns us for some other sin, then of course we do not have
confidence before God. But it is lack of forgiveness that most often comes
between people and God.
The law of forgiveness is given to make it possible for us
to be effective in God's kingdom. Satan desires to keep us in a state of
unforgiveness. That is why practical spiritual warfare is needed. That
practical warfare simply means being sure we have repented and are covered by
the blood of Jesus and then telling Satan to leave.
If we have any unforgiveness, even if our heart has become
hardened to a long ago unforgiveness, we will be less than effective in God’s
kingdom, and definitely not prepared for the end times. It will be disastrous
to enter into the end times with unforgiveness in our heart.
