Month 03 – Day 03

 

 

This spiritual warfare discipleship program is uniquely designed to make disciples for Christ using the Word and a simple process of multiplication while increasing your circle of friends and having fun.

 

Keep in mind that we are entering in to the last days and there is a desperate need for prepared kingdom workers who understand the times in which we live!

Today’s Scripture: Mark 9:30-50

 

 

Lesson

 

Disciple:  Our scripture reading for today begins with Jesus trying to prepare his disciples for His death by telling them, “… But 3 days later, He would rise to life.” (verse 31)

Servant:  In verse 35 it says, “… Jesus sat down and told the 12 disciples to gather around Him…”.  That warms my heart to picture Jesus and His 12 disciples together.

 

D: That’s what happens at our weekly 12 for Jesus gatherings, isn’t it?

S:  Yes, we gather around Jesus.

 

D:  Jesus instructed His disciples, “If you want the place of honor, you must… serve others.” (verse 35)

S:  Will people that serve others be rewarded?

 

D:  Yes, verse 41 says they “… will surely be rewarded.”

S:  I’ve seen that happen many times.

 

D:  Jesus gives us a stern warning about Hell in verse 48.

S:  Yes, Jesus says, “The worms there never die, and the fire never stops burning.”

 

D:  Imagine how people in Hell must suffer.  Worms are continually crawling through their burning bodies.

S:  While there’s time, tell people about Jesus and this reward-winning 12 for Jesus training.

 

D:  All it takes to start a conversation is, “May I ask you a question?”

S:  Let’s do it and begin earning our rewards.

 

D:  May we continue yesterday’s discussion about prayer?

S:  Sure. The next part of the Lord’s Prayer is, “And do not lead us into temptation….”  So far, I haven’t found any other references in the Bible that indicates that God leads us into temptation.

 

D:  The next part says, “… but deliver us from the evil one.”  The evil one is Satan, right?

S:  Yes.

 

D:  We’ve had plenty of scriptures about God delivering us from Satan, haven’t we?

S:  Yes.

 

D:  The final part is a tribute to God.

S:  It says, “For Yours (God’s) is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen”

 

D:  What a wonderful prayer!

S:  There’s so much to it that sometimes it takes me an hour to pray it.

 

D:  I’ve noticed that many people end prayers with, “In Jesus’ name, Amen.”  Why?

S:   Jesus says in John 14:14, “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

 

D:  That’s a good reason, isn’t it?

S:  Si, señor.  Father, we ask in Jesus’ name, please help us make 12 disciples for Jesus who do likewise 10 times.
