Words From Jesus: On Prayer

Jesus had much to say about prayer. In the practical, everyday spiritual warfare we all experience we are wise to know the Jesus’ words. His words give us unshakable confidence that Satan and his demons can have no part of us when we stay anchored to Him.

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Matthew 21:22

Where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20

It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer'; but you make it a den of thieves. Matthew 21:13

My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass for Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matthew 26:39

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41

I do not pray that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from the evil one. John 17:15

Beware of practicing you piety before men in order to be seen by them; for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 6:1

The hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him. God in spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:23-24

Be gone, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only’. Matthew 4:10

When you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:3-4

But watch at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the on of man. Luke 21:36

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. Luke 10:2

Pray then like this: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors, and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:9-13

And in praying do not heap up empty phrases, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Matthew 6:7-8
